We have a simple, but important mission: provide funding for emergency and transformational programs for orphans. In order to receive assistance, orphanages must have been visited by at least one board member of the World Orphan Fund.
If you're interested to see what we've been doing recently (especially if you want to help), check out our project list on our website.
If you have able hands, we want your help. Whether it's helping at one of our events or giving your time at an orphanage, we need you. And so do some very beautiful children.
I think everyone has a calling. In my case, I've always felt the pull to help orphaned children. But I had no idea where to start.
Then in June of 2010, I went on a mission trip with my daughter and met a 20-year-old youth leader from Gainesville, Georgia. She sat down across from me at a lunch break said "I think I'm supposed to ask to you to come to Honduras with me." I said yes. And after spending two weeks with the children at Orphanage Emmanuel in January of 2011, I founded the World Orphan Fund.
Since then we've visited 2,800 children in 18 orphanages. With God's grace (and the help of a lot of good people) we've been able to fund over 20 critical projects ranging from a new third grade teacher at one orphanage to removing arsenic from drinking water at another.
At the World Orphan fund we have no staff, headquarters or overhead. We're volunteers, just like you. 100% of your donation goes to fund projects to help orphaned children. Visit our website to learn about our work.
